View stage status chips for plant items

Use visual chips to quickly see whether a plant item is on hire, off hire, or has no stage set.

Audience

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps

Step 1: Locate the stage chip for a plant item

On the plant or equipment list, find the row for the relevant item and look for the small status chip shown alongside its lifecycle stage.

Step 2: Identify whether the item is on hire

Check for a chip labelled "On hire"; this uses a success tone and icon so you can immediately see that the item is currently hired out.

Step 3: Identify whether the item is off hire

If the item has been taken off hire, you will see a distinct chip labelled "Off hire" with a different terminal tone and icon to clearly differentiate it from on-hire items.

Step 4: Confirm there is always an icon and label

For any visible stage chip, note that the colour is always paired with an icon and a clear text label so status is understandable without relying on colour alone.

Step 5: Understand when no chip is shown

If an item has no valid lifecycle stage set, no generic "Unknown" chip is displayed, preventing confusion from misleading or placeholder statuses.
