Ask for an answer on an RFI

Use the "Ask for an answer" call-to-action on an RFI to send a structured response request to the correct recipient directly from the RFI detail view.

Steps

Step 1: Open the RFI detail view

Navigate to your workspace and open the RFI item you want an answer to so that the RFI detail view is displayed.

Step 2: Locate the "Ask for an answer" call-to-action

In the RFI-specific card section, find the "Ask for an answer" button that appears for draft RFIs.

Step 3: Open the confirm and send dialog

Select the "Ask for an answer" button to open the shared confirm-and-send dialog, which is automatically pre-filled with the RFI question and the resolved recipient.

Step 4: Review the pre-filled RFI request

Check that the question and recipient details are correct in the dialog, adjusting any editable fields if needed before sending.

Step 5: Send the RFI answer request

Choose "Send request" to post the RFI response request, creating the appropriate rfi_response payload and notifying the selected recipient.
