Correct a form you've already submitted

Fix a mistake on a submitted form and leave a note explaining what changed and why — so there's a clear record of the correction.

Steps

Step 1: Open the amend screen

From the submission you want to fix, select the option to amend it. This opens the current answers so you can see what's there before you start editing.

Look through the answers already on record and work out exactly what needs changing.

Step 3: Choose how you want to edit it

Pick form mode to change answers field by field using normal boxes and dropdowns, or JSON mode to edit the raw data directly if the change is more complex.

Step 4: Make your changes in form mode

Update the fields that need correcting using the boxes, dropdowns, or other controls provided.

Edit only the values that need to change, and keep the structure intact so the system can accept your update.

Step 6: Explain the change

Write a short note saying what you've changed and why. This keeps a clear record of the correction for anyone checking later.

Submit your changes. They're checked and saved, and the submission is updated to reflect the correction.
