Review and update task details
Use the task detail panel to review key task information, update its status and priority, and collaborate with your team using comments.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the task detail panel
Select a task from the task list to open the task detail panel on the right-hand side of the screen. The panel shows the task title, description, current status, priority, assignee, and key dates.

Step 2: Review task details and metadata
In the Details view, review the task summary, description, due date, created/updated times, assignment type, and priority. Use this view to confirm that you are working on the correct task and understand its context.

Step 3: Update task status
Use the status controls in the panel to change the task status between Pending, In Progress, Completed, or Cancelled. The task is updated immediately, and any connected views or boards will reflect the new status.

Step 4: Adjust task priority
Select the appropriate priority level (Low, Medium, High, or Urgent) using the priority badge or dropdown. The colour and label update to reflect the new priority and help your team understand its urgency.

Step 5: Switch between details, comments, and history
Use the tabs or icons in the panel header to switch between Details, Comments, and History views. This lets you focus on task information, collaboration, or the activity timeline as needed.

Step 6: Add a new comment
Open the Comments view, type your message into the comment box, and select the send button to post it. Your comment appears in the thread with your avatar, timestamp, and content, so others can respond.

Step 7: Edit one of your existing comments
In the Comments view, find a comment you posted and use the edit option (for example, the pencil icon or overflow menu). Update the text in the editable field and save your changes to correct or clarify your message.

Step 8: Delete one of your existing comments
In the Comments view, open the options for your comment using the overflow menu (three dots) or delete icon. Confirm the deletion to remove the comment from the thread.

Step 9: Review task activity history
In the History view, review the timeline of updates such as status changes, priority changes, and system or bot actions. Use this information to understand how the task has progressed over time.

Step 10: Resize or close the panel
Use the maximise/minimise control in the panel header to expand or shrink the panel width for easier reading. When you are finished, select the close (X) icon to hide the panel and return to the main task view.
