Use smart shortcuts to quickly access key actions

Use the Smart Shortcuts widget to jump straight to your most relevant actions and pages based on recent activity and priority.

Steps

Step 1: Open the page that contains the Smart Shortcuts widget

Navigate to the area of the application where the Smart Shortcuts widget is displayed, usually shown as a card with a title, description and a list or grid of shortcut tiles.

Look through the shortcuts presented in the widget, noting their icons, labels, brief descriptions, and any badges or indicators showing category, importance or freshness.

Step 3: Choose a shortcut that matches what you want to do

Identify the shortcut that best matches the task you want to perform, such as creating a new item, reviewing reports, checking alerts, or opening a key dashboard.

Step 4: Click the shortcut to open the relevant page

Select the shortcut tile or list item; the application will navigate you directly to the linked page or feature, using either the default behaviour or any custom click handling that has been configured.

Step 5: Switch layout if multiple views are available

If layout toggles are shown (for example, grid, list or compact views), select your preferred layout to change how shortcuts are displayed while keeping the same underlying set of actions.

Step 6: Use freshness and usage indicators to prioritise actions

Where visible, use indicators such as relative time labels, usage counts or priority badges to decide which shortcuts are most urgent or most frequently used before making your selection.
