Create a new form template

Use this dialogue to create a reusable form template for your project, including its name, scope, category, description and tags.

Audience

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps

Step 1: Open the create form template dialogue

Open the "New form template" dialogue from your project so you can define a new template. The dialogue appears as a pop-up over your current page, without navigating away.

Open the create form template dialogue

Step 2: Enter the template name and select scope

In the dialogue, type a clear, descriptive name for your template. Choose whether the template scope is limited to this project or available more broadly, using the Scope selector. You must provide a name before you can create the template.

Enter the template name and select scope

Step 3: Add an optional description

In the Description field, add a brief explanation of how and when this template should be used. This helps your team understand the purpose of the template when selecting it later.

Step 4: Choose an optional report category

Use the Category dropdown to assign the template to a report category, if relevant. Leave it as "None" if the template does not belong to any existing category.

Step 5: Add tags to help find the template

In the Tags field, type a keyword and press Enter to add it as a tag. Repeat for each tag you want to add. To remove a tag, click the remove control on the tag you no longer need. Tags help users filter and search for templates later.

Step 6: Create the template

When you are satisfied with the details, click the Create button. The button is enabled once a name is entered and the template is not currently saving. The system saves the new template, closes the dialogue, and takes you to the template builder or next configuration screen.
