Preview a form field while building a form

Use the field preview to see how each form field type will look to end users as you configure your form.

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps

Step 1: Open the form builder

Navigate to the form builder in your project so you can add or edit fields in a form layout.

Step 2: Select or add a field to preview

Choose an existing field from the form builder or add a new one; the Field Preview panel will show a live preview based on the field type you select (section, checkbox, select, multi-select, radio, text area, or signature).

Step 3: Review labels and required indicators

Check that the field label appears as intended and that required fields are clearly marked with an asterisk (*) in the preview.

Step 4: Verify options for choice-based fields

For select, multi-select, and radio fields, confirm that all option labels appear in the preview and that any disabled options are shown but cannot be selected.

Step 5: Confirm helper text and placeholders

For fields with placeholders (such as select placeholders like “Select…”) or helper text, review the preview to ensure the guidance is clear for end users.

Step 6: Check special field types (sections and signatures)

For section headers, confirm the preview shows them as headings, and for signature fields, ensure the signature pad area appears where expected in the form layout.
