Manage safety actions for a work activity

Use contextual safety action buttons to trigger key RAMS, permit and briefing tasks directly from the work activity screen.

Audience

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps

Step 1: Review available safety actions

Open the work activity where the safety panel appears and review the list of contextual safety actions shown under "Safety actions", such as requesting RAMS, raising a permit to work, running a RAMS audit or briefing the team. Each button label and tooltip explains what will happen when you use it.

Step 2: Check for any safety action errors

If an error message is shown above the buttons, read it carefully to understand why a previous action failed and, if needed, resolve the underlying issue or contact your system administrator before trying again.

Step 3: Trigger a safety action

Select the most relevant safety action button, such as "Request RAMS" or "Raise permit to work"; the system will start the corresponding workflow and momentarily disable all safety action buttons while it processes your request.

Step 4: Wait for the action to complete

While the action is processing, watch for the spinning indicator on the selected button; once it completes, the buttons become active again and any follow-up status or confirmation is displayed elsewhere on the page.
