Adjust and filter the timeline view
Use the timeline toolbar to zoom, jump to today, group by phase, show dependencies and critical path, and filter visible item types.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the timeline with its toolbar
Navigate to the workspace timeline so the toolbar appears at the top, showing zoom, date, grouping, visibility, and filter controls.

Step 2: Zoom in and out of the timeline
Use the plus and minus buttons on the left of the toolbar to zoom the timeline in for more detail or out for a broader view, such as week, month, quarter, or year.

Step 3: Jump the timeline to today
Select the calendar button to scroll the timeline so that today’s date is centred, making it easier to see current and upcoming work.

Step 4: Group items by project phase
Toggle the phase grouping control to switch between a flat list and a view grouped by project phase, helping you understand progress by phase.

Step 5: Show or hide task dependencies
Use the dependencies toggle, marked with a branching icon, to display or hide links between related tasks on the timeline.

Step 6: Highlight the critical path
Turn on the critical path toggle to highlight the series of tasks that directly affect the project completion date, then turn it off again when not needed.

Step 7: Open the category filter panel
Click the filter button on the right of the toolbar to open the category filter panel, where you can manage which item types appear on the timeline.

Step 8: Choose which item categories are visible
In the open filter panel, tick or untick categories such as Tasks, Meetings, Milestones, Deadlines, Programme, RFI, Procurement, Handover, Packages, Components, ITPs, Materials, Plant, RAMS, Temporary Works, and Automated to control what appears.

Step 9: Close the category filter panel
Click outside the filter panel area to close it and return to working directly with the filtered timeline view.
