Review next best actions to move an item forward
Use the Next best action panel to see what is missing and quickly complete requirements so a workspace item can move to the next stage.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open an item and locate the Next best action panel
Open the relevant workspace item and scroll to the Next best action panel, usually displayed alongside the item details and stage information. The panel summarises what is needed to move the item to the next stage.

Step 2: Review the target stage and missing requirements
In the panel, check the message such as "To [Next stage], add…" and review the listed missing requirements. Each requirement is labelled with its type, for example a field to complete, a linked item to add, or a permit to raise.

Step 3: Use deep links to resolve missing fields
Select any requirement marked as a missing field to jump directly to that field in the item details, where you can complete or correct the information so it meets the stage requirements.

Step 4: Add required linked items
Select any requirement marked as a missing linked item to open the linked-item flow. From there, create or attach the necessary related item so that the dependency is satisfied.

Step 5: Raise required permits
Select any requirement marked as a missing permit to open the permit-raising flow, allowing you to submit the appropriate permit so the item can progress.

Step 6: Check SLA status for the current stage
In the same panel, review the SLA pill showing whether the current stage is on track, due soon, or overdue, using both icon and text such as "Due in X hours" or "Overdue by X hours".

Step 7: Confirm readiness to move the item forward
Once all requirements have been resolved and the panel no longer lists missing items, use the separate stage action controls to move the item to the next stage, confident that nothing is outstanding.
