Manage lifecycle actions for a workspace item
Use the single lifecycle action area to move an item forward, resolve issues, and run contextual actions from one place.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Review the next recommended action
Open the workspace item detail and locate the lifecycle action area to see the single recommended next step, including why it is or is not currently available.

Step 2: Check requirements blocking progress
If the recommended step is blocked, review the listed missing requirements and use the provided links to open and resolve specific fields or related records.

Step 3: Take the main lifecycle step
When you are ready, select the main action shown in the lifecycle action area to move the item to the next stage, following any on-screen instructions such as confirmations or comments.

Step 4: Handle actions that require additional forms
If the move requires an additional form, follow the prompt that opens the relevant artefact dialog and complete the required information to continue the transition.

Step 5: Use contextual lifecycle actions
From the same area, trigger any available contextual actions, such as raising a permit or running a specialised lifecycle action, and monitor their status until completion.

Step 6: Access more lifecycle options
Open the More menu in the lifecycle action area to view any additional lifecycle moves or safety actions that apply to the current item.

Step 7: Confirm the item has transitioned
After completing an action, verify that the item’s stage and status have updated correctly in the lifecycle header and that the next recommended step reflects the new state.
