Manage hold points on an ITP item

Raise a hold point, a stage where work must stop until it's inspected and signed off, and clear it once the inspection's done, so there's a proper record of who checked what and when.

Steps

Step 1: Check the current hold point status

Go to the ITP item and check the hold point panel to see whether a hold is active, pending, or already cleared, along with any notes on it.

Step 2: Raise a new hold point

Select the option to raise a hold point for this item, then confirm. This tells the right people and creates a new hold point record.

Step 3: Check the hold point's been set up correctly

After raising it, check the details shown on screen, such as the hold point type and status, to make sure it's been created properly.

Step 4: Start clearing the hold point

Once the inspection or check is done, open the clear hold point option from the panel to record the outcome.

Step 5: Record the result

Say whether the hold point passed or failed, add any notes on the result, and name the person who witnessed or checked it.

Step 6: Submit to clear the hold

Submit the form to update the item's status, clear the hold, and set off anything that's meant to happen next automatically.

Step 7: Fix any errors that come up

If you see an error message while raising or clearing a hold point, check what's missing or wrong, fix it, and try again.
