Manage hold points for an ITP item

Trigger and clear quality hold points on an ITP item so inspections are recorded, tracked, and properly closed out.

Steps

Step 1: Review current hold point status

Navigate to the ITP item and review the hold point panel to see the current status, including whether a hold is active, pending, or cleared, along with any existing notes or metadata.

Step 2: Trigger a new hold point

Select the option to trigger a hold point for the current component and item; confirm the action to notify relevant stakeholders and create a new hold point record in the system.

Step 3: Confirm hold point details

After triggering, review the hold point response details shown on screen, such as hold point type, status, and any system-generated references, to ensure the hold has been created correctly.

Step 4: Open the clear hold point dialog

When the inspection or verification is complete, open the clear hold point dialog from the hold point panel to begin recording the outcome of the hold.

Step 5: Record inspection result and notes

In the clear hold dialog, select whether the hold point has passed or failed, add any relevant result notes, and enter the name of the person who witnessed or verified the hold point.

Step 6: Submit and clear the hold point

Submit the clear hold form to update the item status, clear the active hold in the system, and trigger any follow-up actions configured for completed hold points.

Step 7: Resolve any hold point errors

If an error message appears while triggering or clearing a hold point, review the message, correct any missing or incorrect information, and retry the action until it succeeds.
