Create a new workspace item from the New item menu
Use the New item dropdown to create standard items, lifecycle-based records, handovers and items from templates in your workspace.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the New item menu
Select the New item button in the workspace header to open the dropdown menu of item types you can create.

Step 2: Choose how you want to create the item
In the dropdown, pick whether you want a standard item, a lifecycle-based item (such as an RFI or issue), a handover item, or a template-based workspace item.

Step 3: Start a standard item form
If you select a standard item option, the Standard item form dialog opens so you can enter the item name, details, and any required fields.

Step 4: Use a lifecycle wizard for structured items
If you select a lifecycle-based option, the lifecycle wizard opens and guides you through the configured fields and stages for that item type.

Step 5: Create a handover item with the handover wizard
If you choose a handover-related option, the handover wizard launches so you can capture handover details and create the item in one flow.

Step 6: Create a temporary works item with review and sign-off
For temporary works categories, complete the lifecycle wizard fields and review the RAMS risk capture; when you submit, the system creates the item and triggers the minor temporary works review and sign-off flow.

Step 7: Create an item from a workspace template
If you pick a template-based option, browse the available system templates, review the template card, and confirm to create a new item pre-populated with the chosen template configuration.

Step 8: Submit the form or wizard to create the item
When you finish entering details, submit the form or wizard; the item is created, any linked tasks or milestones are set up, and you are returned to the workspace with the new item visible.
