View lifecycle status and next actions
Use the lifecycle status bar to see an item's current stage, understand any blockers or deadlines, and access the primary next action.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open an item with a lifecycle
Navigate to a workspace item that uses the lifecycle workflow so the lifecycle status bar appears at the top of the item view, showing the current stage name, label, and icon.

Step 2: Check the current stage and state
Read the lifecycle status bar to confirm which stage the item is in and whether it is ready, blocked, overdue, or in a terminal state, using both the text label and visual indicators.

Step 3: Review blockers and guidance
If the bar shows the item as blocked, follow the blocker link or message connected to the status bar to understand what is preventing progress and what must be resolved.

Step 4: Use the primary next action
Use the primary action button in the status bar to move the item forward when it is ready, or hover over a disabled button to hear or read the explanation for why the action is not available.

Step 5: Confirm accessibility cues
Rely on the combination of colour, text, icon, and spoken explanations from assistive technologies to understand the lifecycle status without depending on colour alone.
