Manage linked items from a workspace item

Use the linked items panel to review, open and manage related packages, tasks, permits and documents from a workspace item.

Audience

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps

Step 1: Open a workspace item and locate the linked items panel

From the workspace, open the relevant item; in the detail view, find the linked items panel showing groups such as Packages, Temporary works, Programme tasks, Permits and Documents.

Step 2: Review linked items in each group

In each group header, check the item count and read the chip labels that summarise the linked packages, temporary works, programme tasks, permits and documents.

Step 3: Navigate to a linked item

Select a chip within a group to open the full page for that package, task, permit or document in a new view, using the generated route for that item.

Step 4: Inspect programme task details via hover

Hover over a linked programme task chip to open the hover card and quickly review key task information without leaving the workspace item.

Step 5: Distinguish required versus issued permits

Use the separate "Required" and "Issued" permit groups to see which permit templates are required by the RAMS author and which permit forms have actually been issued.

Distinguish required versus issued permits

For any empty group, use the inline "Link / Add" call to action (when available) to start linking new related packages, tasks, permits or documents so they appear as chips once created.

Add or link new related items from empty groups

Step 7: Add further items to non-empty groups

In groups that already have linked items and support multiple entries, use the add-more option to link or raise additional related records.

Add further items to non-empty groups

Use the unlink control on a chip (where available) to remove an item from the group while keeping the underlying record intact elsewhere in the system.
