Build a custom register
Configure and save a tailored workspace-item register, then generate its first signed document version.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the register builder
Open the register builder dialog from the relevant workspace or register area to start assembling a new custom register.

Step 2: Choose the register source
Use the Source drop-down to select the workspace item type you want the register to be based on; the builder loads the matching field catalogue.

Step 3: Apply filters to narrow the scope
Add and adjust filters in the filter bar to refine which items appear in the register, using date presets and other axes as needed.

Step 4: Review the filter summary
Check the filter summary and active filter count to confirm the scope is correct, then clear filters if you need to start again.

Step 5: Select and order columns
In the column picker, choose which fields to show as register columns and drag to reorder them until the layout suits your reporting needs.

Step 6: Configure grouping and layout
If available, set any group-by options and layout preferences so the register is organised in a way that is easy to review.

Step 7: Preview the register structure
Use the live structural preview to confirm that the chosen source, filters, columns and grouping produce the register you expect.

Step 8: Save the register definition
Select Save register, enter a clear name, and confirm to persist the register definition for future use and versioning.

Step 9: Generate the first versioned document
Select Generate v1 to create the first signed, versioned register document, which opens in the shared register preview dialog.

Step 10: Reuse the saved definition
Return to the saved register definition later to regenerate updated, versioned documents in line with your latest data.
