Configure a register using the Register Builder
Use the Register Builder dialog to configure which fields appear in a register and how items are grouped before generating documents.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the Register Builder dialog
Open the Register Builder dialog from your project so you can configure a register definition for a specific item type, such as defects.

Step 2: Review available fields from the catalogue
Review the field catalogue for the selected item type, including default fields like Reference, Title, Severity, and Due, so you understand what information can be included.

Step 3: Choose which fields to include in the register
Select the fields you want to appear in the register, keeping or removing defaults and optionally adding any additional catalogue fields to match your reporting needs.

Step 4: Configure grouping and layout options
Set grouping options, such as grouping by Severity, and adjust any layout or display settings so the register is organised in a useful way for stakeholders.

Step 5: Save the register definition for future use
Save your register definition so it can be reused or updated later without needing to rebuild the configuration from scratch.

Step 6: Generate a register document from the definition
Generate a register document using your saved definition so you can share or download an up-to-date view of the selected items.
