Configure lifecycle wizard pickers
Use advanced picker fields in lifecycle item wizards to select organisations, users, documents and other linked records accurately.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open a lifecycle item wizard with picker fields
Navigate to the relevant lifecycle area and start creating or editing an item so the wizard opens with fields that use pickers instead of plain text inputs.

Step 2: Choose organisations and contacts
In the organisation and contact fields, use the Org and Contact pickers to search, filter and select the correct companies and people so their IDs are stored on the item.

Step 3: Assign responsible users
Use the User picker to search for and select the team member responsible for the lifecycle item, ensuring the correct user ID is captured for later reporting.

Step 4: Link related lifecycle items and locations
In fields for related items or locations, use the Lifecycle Item and Location pickers to connect the new record to existing items and project locations.

Step 5: Attach documents, forms and templates
Use the Document, Form and Template pickers to search for existing project files and templates, so the wizard records clean links to the underlying records.

Step 6: Select packages and programme tasks
For package- and schedule-related fields, use the Package and Programme Task pickers to associate the lifecycle item with the correct work package or programme activity.

Step 7: Review human-friendly labels before submitting
On the review step, confirm that each picker field shows clear names such as organisation and document titles, then submit to save the lifecycle item with the correct metadata.
