Ask for an answer to an RFI
Use the "Ask for an answer" call-to-action on an RFI to confirm the recipient, review the pre-filled question, and send a formal response request.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the RFI item in your workspace
In your workspace, navigate to the relevant project and open the RFI item you want an answer for; the detail view will show the RFI-specific card heading.

Step 2: Locate the "Ask for an answer" call-to-action
Scroll within the RFI detail view to the RFI-specific card and find the "Ask for an answer" button displayed under the RFI heading.

Step 3: Click the CTA to open the confirm-and-send dialog
Select the "Ask for an answer" button to open the shared confirm-and-send dialog; the system automatically resolves the recipient and pre-fills the RFI question and recipient details.

Step 4: Review the pre-filled RFI question and recipient
In the confirm-and-send dialog, check that the RFI question text and the resolved recipient are correct, making any allowed adjustments before sending.

Step 5: Send the RFI answer request
Choose the "Send request" action in the dialog to submit your RFI answer request; the system sends the appropriate rfi_response payload and closes the dialog.
