Confirm a lifecycle stage transition

Use the stage transition dialog to review and confirm moving a record from its current lifecycle stage to a new stage, adding an optional comment where required.

Audience

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps

Step 1: Open the stage transition dialog

Trigger the stage change from the main interface (for example, by selecting a new stage or clicking a “Move to next stage” action). The stage transition dialog opens, showing the current stage on the left and the target stage on the right, along with the transition label at the top.

Step 2: Review stage details and any missing requirements

Check the visual comparison of the current and target stages, including their names and order. If there are any missing requirements that block the transition, they are listed with an alert icon so you can address them before proceeding.

Step 3: Add a comment if required

If the transition requires a comment, type a clear explanation or justification into the comment field before confirming. The Confirm button will remain disabled until a non-empty comment is provided when a comment is mandatory.

Step 4: Confirm or cancel the transition

Click Confirm to proceed with the stage transition. If a loading state is shown, wait for the action to complete. To abandon the change instead, click Cancel or click outside the dialog; this closes the dialog and clears any comment you entered.
