Review open risks in the Forward Look dashboard
Use the Open Risks widget to review, prioritise and explore active risks across your projects, including impact, likelihood and ownership details.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the Forward Look dashboard
Navigate to the Forward Look area of the PlanOps dashboard to view high-level information about current and upcoming project risks.

Step 2: Locate the Open Risks widget
Scroll to the Open Risks widget card, which summarises the total number of open risks, their overall estimated financial impact and expected value.

Step 3: Review the risk summary strip
Use the summary strip at the top of the widget to scan key metrics such as total open risks, proactive vs reactive risks, and overall financial exposure.

Step 4: Filter risks using chips
Apply the filter chips above the list (for example by type, category or stage) to narrow the list to the most relevant open risks for your review.

Step 5: Scan the list of open risks
Scroll through the list to see each open risk with its reference, title, likelihood, proximity, event nature and key financial metrics such as total impact and expected value.

Step 6: Check ownership and project context
For each item, review the risk owner name and associated project so you can see who is responsible and where the risk sits in your portfolio.

Step 7: Identify high-priority risks
Use the indicators for high likelihood, high impact and imminent proximity to focus on risks that may require immediate attention or escalation.

Step 8: Recognise empty states
If no open risks match your current filters, the widget shows an empty state message so you can adjust filters or confirm that no qualifying risks are present.
