Use the Temporary Works Status Pipeline widget to see how many items sit in each status and quickly spot overdue or high-risk work.

Audience

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps

Step 1: Open the dashboard containing the Temporary Works Status Pipeline

Navigate to the relevant dashboard and locate the "Temporary Works Status Pipeline" widget, typically displayed as a card showing multiple status columns with a header and total item count.

Step 2: Review the overall total and loading or error states

Check the widget header and total count to understand how many temporary works items are currently tracked; if the widget shows a loading skeleton or an alert message, wait for data to load or follow any on-screen guidance before proceeding.

Step 3: Scan status columns in workflow order

Review each column from "Registered" through to "Removed" to understand how work is progressing through the lifecycle, using the left-to-right order to see where items may be building up.

Step 4: Interpret colour-coded status headers

Use the coloured status labels at the top of each column to quickly differentiate stages; for example, blue for "Registered", amber for "Design in progress", green for "Design approved", and grey tones for "Struck" and "Removed".

Step 5: Review individual temporary works items in each column

Within each column, scan the listed items to see their reference, description, type, associated project and whether any inspection is overdue, using this to prioritise which items need attention.

Step 6: Use risk indicators to prioritise high-risk works

Look for the small coloured risk dots on each item, where green, amber, orange and red represent low through to critical risk, so you can focus first on items with the highest risk levels.

Step 7: Check project information for context

For each item, review the displayed project name (or use your knowledge of the project reference if the name is not shown) to understand where in your portfolio the temporary works are located.

Step 8: Identify overdue inspections across the pipeline

Look for any clear overdue inspection indicators within items, allowing you to quickly see which temporary works have missed inspection deadlines and may require immediate escalation.

Step 9: Refresh the pipeline to see the latest information

Use the refresh control on the widget (typically shown as a circular arrow icon) to reload the data so that the status counts and item details reflect the most recent updates from the underlying system.
