Review forward look flow bottlenecks

Use the Forward Look Flow Bottlenecks widget to identify where work is piling up across lifecycles, stages and priorities so you can act early.

Steps

Step 1: Open the Forward Look Flow Bottlenecks widget

Navigate to your plan ops dashboard and locate the Forward Look Flow Bottlenecks widget, identified by the merge icon and its title in the widget header.

Step 2: Check the overall item summary

Review the top summary figures for total items, overdue work, items due this week and unassigned items to understand the current workload at a glance.

Step 3: Analyse bottlenecks by lifecycle

Scroll through the lifecycle section to see which lifecycle categories have the highest counts; look for red-highlighted bars that indicate potential bottlenecks.

Step 4: Inspect bottlenecks by stage

Use the by-stage breakdown to identify specific workflow stages where work is backing up, focusing on stages with the longest or red bars.

Step 5: Review workload by priority

Examine the by-priority view to see how many items are high, medium or low priority so you can decide where to focus attention first.

Step 6: Refresh the widget data

Click the refresh button in the widget header to reload data from the source system and ensure you are viewing the most up-to-date bottleneck information.
