Analyse event risks with the Risk Matrix widget

Use the Events Risk Matrix widget to see how events are distributed by likelihood and impact, so you can quickly spot high and critical risks.

Steps

Step 1: Open the dashboard containing the Events Risk Matrix

Navigate to the relevant dashboard where the Events Risk Matrix widget is displayed; the widget loads automatically and shows a 5x5 grid of risk levels once data is available.

Step 2: Review overall events and loading or error messages

Check the top of the widget for the total number of events and observe any loading skeletons or warning alerts if data is still being fetched or could not be loaded.

Step 3: Understand risk levels and colour coding

Use the colour-coded grid cells and legend to interpret the four risk levels—low, medium, high and critical—based on the combination of likelihood and impact bands.

Step 4: Explore events by likelihood and impact bands

Scan across the grid to see how many events fall into each combination of likelihood and total impact bands, using the axis labels from "Very Low" to "Very High" to understand distribution.

Step 5: Inspect detailed information for a specific cell

Select or hover over a matrix cell to view the individual events in that band, including their reference, title, event type and associated project.

Focus on cells highlighted as high or critical risk and review their listed events so you can prioritise follow-up actions in your project planning.

Step 7: Refresh the Events Risk Matrix data

Use the refresh control on the widget to reload the latest event risk data, ensuring your analysis reflects any recent changes to likelihood or impact.
