Configure a register-based dashboard widget

Configure a custom dashboard widget that visualises project register data as a chart, metric card or table.

Audience

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps

Step 1: Open the widget configuration panel

From your dashboard, select the register widget you want to edit to open the configuration panel for that widget.

Step 2: Choose the register data source

In the configuration panel, pick the register you want to use (for example workspace items, temporary works, plant, risks, documents or people and companies) so the widget knows where to pull its data from.

Step 3: Select the visualisation type

Choose how you want the data to be displayed by selecting a visualisation type such as metric card, chart or table.

Step 4: Configure chart options

If you select a chart, choose the chart type and layout options so that the widget presents your data in the most useful format for your dashboard.

Step 5: Apply filters and sorting

Add any filters and sorting rules to focus the widget on the most relevant records and order them in a meaningful way.

Step 6: Preview the widget

Use the live preview in the configuration panel to check how your chosen data, visualisation and settings will appear on the dashboard.

Step 7: Save and place the widget

Save your configuration so the widget is added or updated on your dashboard, then adjust its position and size to fit your layout.
