Manage dashboard widgets
Use widget controls to configure, refresh, duplicate, hide, and add dashboard widgets to reports.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the dashboard in edit mode
Switch your dashboard into edit mode so that widget controls such as configure, duplicate, hide, and add to report become available on each widget.
Step 2: Reorder widgets using the drag handle
Hover over a widget header to reveal the drag handle, then click and drag the handle to move the widget to a new position on the dashboard.
Step 3: Configure widget settings
Select the settings icon on a widget to open its configuration panel, where you can adjust how the widget behaves or what data it displays.
Step 4: Refresh widget data
Use the refresh control on a widget to reload its data, ensuring the figures and charts reflect the latest project information.
Step 5: Duplicate a widget
Click the duplicate icon to create a copy of an existing widget, then move or reconfigure the copy to present the same data in a different way.
Step 6: Hide an inherited widget
For widgets inherited from another dashboard, use the hide control to remove them from your view without affecting the original source dashboard.
Step 7: Add a widget to a report
On supported register-backed widgets, select the add to report option to include that widget in a formal report, then choose the target report in the picker.
Step 8: View placeholder and loading states
When a widget is still loading or not yet implemented, review the placeholder or loading skeleton to confirm that the widget has been added and is initialising correctly.
