Steps
Step 1: Open a widget with a chart
Navigate to the dashboard and select a widget that displays a chart to open its visual summary of the underlying data.
Step 2: Review the chart axes and legend
Use the chart axes labels and legend to understand what each series represents, including colours, units and value formats.
Step 3: Hover to see detailed values
Move your cursor over the chart to reveal tooltips showing precise values formatted as numbers or currency, depending on the display options.
Step 4: Compare series and categories
Visually compare bars, lines, areas, pies or scatter points across categories or time to spot trends, outliers and performance differences.
Step 5: Interpret status tones
Use the chart colours and tones (such as critical, warning, neutral and ok) to quickly assess the status and risk level of each data group.
Step 6: Recognise loading and empty states
When data is loading, wait for the skeleton placeholder to finish; if no data is available, review the empty state message for guidance.
