Steps

Step 1: Open the chart widget

Navigate to the dashboard section that contains the chart widget and wait for the chart area to finish loading any skeleton placeholders.

Step 2: Review the chart type and legend

Check the chart type (bar, line, area, scatter, or pie) and use the legend to identify each series by name and colour.

Step 3: Inspect values using the tooltip

Hover over points, bars, or slices on the chart to open the tooltip and see the exact values formatted according to the chart settings.

Move along the x-axis categories to compare how different series perform side by side and identify any notable peaks, drops, or patterns.

Step 5: Interpret tones and status colours

Use the chart colours and tones (such as critical, warning, neutral, or ok) to quickly spot areas that require attention or are performing well.

Step 6: Check for empty or error states

If no data is available or an error occurs, review the empty-state or error message displayed instead of the chart to understand the next steps.
