Review upcoming programme activities in the Lookahead widget
Use the Lookahead widget to review upcoming activities, identify items at risk, and understand who is responsible and how far along each activity is.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the dashboard containing the Lookahead widget
Navigate to the relevant programme dashboard page where the Lookahead widget is displayed as a card, showing upcoming activities for the selected lookahead period.

Step 2: Check that data has loaded successfully
Wait for any loading skeletons to disappear and confirm that the widget displays a list of activities instead of a loading or error state, ensuring the data is ready to review.

Step 3: Review the lookahead period
Look at the lookahead period label (for example, 1 week or 2 weeks) to understand the time window for which upcoming activities are being shown.

Step 4: Scan grouped activities by week
Review the activities grouped by week, using the date and week group headings to understand when each set of tasks is scheduled to start and end.

Step 5: Identify activities that are at risk
Look for activities marked with an at-risk indicator (such as an alert icon or distinctive badge) to quickly spot items that may need attention or intervention.

Step 6: Check responsible parties and progress
For each activity, read the responsible party name and, where available, the percentage complete to confirm ownership and assess current progress.

Step 7: Note activity priority
Where priority is shown, review whether each activity is marked as high, medium, or low priority so you can focus on the most critical upcoming work.

Step 8: Refresh the widget data
Use the widget’s refresh control (for example, a refresh button in the header) to reload the data and ensure you are looking at the latest activity information.
