Configure follow-on agent task when raising an issue

Configure whether an automated follow-on agent task should run when you submit a new issue based on an agent-enabled issue template.

Steps

Step 1: Open the issue form dialog

From your project workspace, open the issue form dialog for the relevant template to start raising a new issue.

Step 2: Choose an issue template with an agent task

In the template selector, choose an issue template that supports an automated agent task on submit, such as an "Agent Permit" template.

Step 3: Review the follow-on agent task toggle

Once the template and version are selected, locate the "Run follow-on agent task" toggle, which appears only for templates that define an agent task on submit.

Step 4: Use the default agent task setting

Leave the toggle in its default position to inherit the setting resolved from the project and organisation defaults, which may enable the agent task automatically.

Step 5: Explicitly enable the follow-on agent task

Turn the toggle on if you want to ensure the follow-on agent task runs when this specific issue is submitted, overriding any inherited defaults.

Step 6: Explicitly disable the follow-on agent task

Turn the toggle off if you do not want the follow-on agent task to run for this issue, even if the project or organisation defaults would normally enable it.

Step 7: Submit the issue with your chosen setting

Complete any remaining fields in the issue form and submit; your explicit choice for the follow-on agent task is saved with the issue and used when it is processed.
