Use widget empty states on your dashboard
Learn how empty state panels guide you when a dashboard widget has no data yet and how to start the recommended next action.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Identify an empty widget on the dashboard
When a widget has no data yet, it shows an empty state card with an icon, a heading that explains what the widget is, and a short description of why it is empty.

Step 2: Read the title to understand what the widget represents
Look at the bold heading in the empty card to confirm which area of your project it refers to, such as documents, risks, or milestones.

Step 3: Review the description to see why it is empty
Read the supporting text below the heading to understand what will appear in the widget once populated and why nothing is shown yet.

Step 4: Use the call-to-action button if available
If a button is shown in the empty state, select it to trigger the recommended next step, such as uploading files or adding the first record for that widget.

Step 5: Confirm data now appears in the widget
After completing the suggested action, return to the dashboard to check that the widget now shows live data instead of the empty state.
