Configure document ingestion for uploaded files

Configure how recipient file uploads are ingested into your project document store, including timing, status and which upload blocks are in scope.

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps​

Step 1: Open the document ingestion settings​

On the page creation wizard, scroll to the "Add uploads to project documents" or "Document ingestion" section to view the configuration panel.

Step 2: Enable ingestion of uploaded documents​

Use the main toggle or switch in the document ingestion section to turn ingestion on, allowing recipient uploads to be added to the project document store.

Step 3: Choose when uploads are ingested​

In the "When should uploads be ingested?" or similar dropdown, select the trigger that controls at what point recipient uploads are added to the document store.

Step 4: Set the target document status and categorisation​

Use the status and related dropdown fields to define the target document status, category and any other metadata that will be applied to ingested uploads.

Step 5: Configure file handling and processing​

In the file handling or processing options, choose the desired handling tier to control how uploaded files are processed once ingested.

Step 6: Define deduplication rules​

In the deduplication settings, select the dedupe scope to control how the system detects and handles duplicate documents across your project.

Step 7: Select which upload blocks are included​

In the scoping section, choose whether to ingest files from all file upload blocks or only from specific blocks, then tick or untick individual upload blocks as required.

Step 8: Review and save your configuration​

Check that the ingestion toggle, triggers, statuses, processing tier, dedupe scope and scoped upload blocks are set correctly, then continue to the next step of the wizard to save your settings.
