Respond to an RFI from a shared public link

Use a public RFI link to verify your identity, review the question and drawing, upload a marked-up response, and complete the RFI loop through to internal review.

Steps

Follow the shared link you received by email to open the RFI page. Enter your email address and request a verification code so the system can confirm you are the intended responder without needing a PlanOps account.

When the verification code arrives in your inbox, return to the RFI page, type in the code exactly as shown, and submit it to unlock access to the RFI details.

Step 3: Review the RFI details and project context

Once verified, review the RFI question, confirm which project and drawing it refers to, and check who has requested the information so you understand the context before responding.

Step 4: Download the referenced drawing

Use the download link on the RFI page to download the associated drawing to your device, so you can review it and prepare any mark-ups needed for your response.

Step 5: Prepare and attach your marked-up drawing

Mark up the downloaded drawing using your preferred tools, then return to the RFI page and use the upload control to attach your updated drawing file to the response.

Step 6: Write your answer and submit the RFI response

Type your written answer to the RFI question in the response field, confirm that the correct marked-up drawing is attached, and submit the response so it is written back to the project.

Step 7: Track internal review and closure

Internally, the RFI moves to a responded state where a reviewer opens the submission, checks your answer and attachment, and accepts it to close the RFI. You can coordinate with the internal team if any follow-up is required.
