Assign a task to a user or AI agent

Use the task assignment widget to choose whether a task is handled by a specific user or an AI agent, and configure any required agent task inputs.

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps​

Step 1: Open the task assignment widget​

Navigate to the task you want to configure and open its assignment settings; the task assignment widget appears showing the current assignment type and any existing selections.

Step 2: Choose an assignment type​

Select whether the task should be assigned to a human user or an AI agent using the assignment type options; the widget updates to show the relevant selection controls for your chosen type.

Step 3: Select a user (for human assignment)​

If you chose to assign the task to a user, pick the appropriate person from the available user list so that they become responsible for completing the task.

Step 4: Select an agent (for AI assignment)​

If you chose to assign the task to an AI agent, wait for the agents list to load and then choose the agent that should execute the task; the widget will prepare the available tasks for that agent.

Step 5: Choose an agent task​

From the loaded agent tasks, select the specific task or capability you want the agent to perform so that the system knows exactly how the agent should handle this assignment.

Step 6: Provide agent task inputs​

Fill in any required input fields for the selected agent task, such as parameters or settings; these inputs will be used by the agent when it runs the task.

Step 7: Confirm and save the assignment​

Review your assignment type, selected user or agent, and any task inputs, then apply or save your changes so the task is officially assigned with the chosen configuration.
