Manage task details from the task header

Use the task header to review and update key task details such as title, status, priority, assignee, phase, due date, and sharing options.

Audience

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps

Step 1: Open the task detail view

From your task list or board, select a task to open its detail view and display the task header at the top of the page.

Step 2: Review task status and source

At the top of the header, check the status badge and source badge to confirm where the task came from and its current workflow state.

Step 3: Edit the task title

Click on the task title in the header to switch it into edit mode, update the text, and then confirm to save the new title.

Step 4: Change task priority

Open the priority dropdown beside the task details, choose a new priority level, and allow the change to save so it is reflected across the project.

Step 5: Assign or change the task owner

Use the assignee dropdown to select a team member from the project member list, or clear the current assignee if the task should be unassigned.

Step 6: Set or update the task phase

Open the phase dropdown and select the most appropriate lifecycle phase such as Discovery, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment, or Maintenance, or clear it if no phase applies.

Step 7: Adjust the due date

Click the due date field in the header, edit the date to match the desired deadline, and confirm to save or clear it if the task no longer has a due date.

Step 8: Share the task

Select the share icon in the header to open the task share dialog, then copy or send the link so others can access the task details.

Step 9: Duplicate the task

Open the action menu in the header, choose the option to duplicate the task, and wait while a new task is created with the same key details.

Step 10: Delete the task

From the action menu, select the delete option, review the confirmation dialog, and confirm deletion if you are sure you want to remove the task.

Step 11: Return to the previous view

Use the back arrow in the header to close the task detail view and return to your previous list or board without losing saved changes.
