Manage a task from the task header

Update key task information such as title, status, assignee, due date and phase directly from the task header.

Audience

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps

Step 1: Open the task detail view

Navigate to the task detail page so the task header is visible at the top, showing the task title, status, priority and metadata.

Step 2: Edit the task title

Click on the task title in the header to start editing, type the new title, then click outside the field to save the change.

Step 3: Update task status and priority

Use the status badge and priority control in the header to change the task status and priority, and wait for the save indicator to complete.

Step 4: Assign or change the task owner

Open the assignee dropdown, select a team member from the project member list, and confirm the selection so their avatar appears in the header.

Step 5: Set or clear the due date

Click the due date control to choose a new due date, or use the clear option to remove the existing date and save the update.

Step 6: Set or clear the task phase

Open the phase dropdown, choose a lifecycle phase such as Discovery or Development, or clear the current phase if it no longer applies.

Step 7: Share, duplicate or delete the task

Use the action menu in the header to open the public share dialog, create a duplicate of the task, or confirm deletion if you no longer need it.

Step 8: Return to the task list

Use the back button in the header to leave the task detail view and return to your previous task list or project view.
