Configure a task schedule

Configure how often and when an automated task should run, including start and end dates.

Audience

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps

Step 1: Open the schedule configuration panel

Locate the task you want to automate and open its schedule configuration panel so you can adjust when it will run.

Step 2: Enable or disable scheduling

Use the Enable Scheduling toggle at the top of the panel to switch scheduling on or off for this task; disabling it prevents any future automatic runs.

Step 3: Choose how often the task runs

Select the recurrence frequency, such as Once, Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Cron, to define the basic pattern of your schedule.

Step 4: Set the interval for hourly or daily runs

When using Hourly or Daily frequency, enter the interval value, for example every 2 hours or every 3 days, to control how frequently the task repeats.

Step 5: Select days of the week for weekly schedules

When using Weekly frequency, choose one or more weekdays (Mon–Sun) so the task only runs on the selected days.

Step 6: Choose a day of the month for monthly schedules

When using Monthly frequency, specify the calendar day of the month on which the task should run, such as the 1st or 15th.

Step 7: Enter a cron expression for advanced schedules

When using Cron frequency, provide a valid cron expression to define complex or custom run patterns beyond the standard options.

Step 8: Set the time of day

For non-hourly recurring schedules, enter the time of day using the clock input so the task runs at the exact time you require.

Step 9: Define start and end dates

Use the calendar inputs to set when the schedule should begin and, optionally, when it should stop running, leaving the end date blank if it should continue indefinitely.

Step 10: Review and apply your schedule

Review all schedule options you have set; changes are applied automatically, and the updated schedule is saved when you save or update the parent task.
