Share a task with a public link or QR code

Share a task securely using public links, access controls, invitations, and QR codes.

Audience

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps

Step 1: Open the task sharing dialog

In the task detail view, select the option to share the task to open the sharing dialog.

Step 2: Review existing public shares

In the dialog, review the list of active public shares for this task, including who can access them and any limits.

Step 3: Choose the access type

Select whether the shared link is public, email-gated, or protected with a password to control who can open the task.

Step 4: Configure access controls

If needed, set a password, allowed email addresses, expiry date, maximum access count, and a custom title for the shared link.

Step 5: Configure invitation email

Choose whether to send invitation emails to allowed recipients and add an optional personalised message.

Step 6: Create the public share

Save your settings to create a new public share for the task, which generates a secure share URL.

Step 7: Copy the share URL

Use the copy action next to a share to copy its URL and send it to stakeholders via your preferred channel.

Step 8: Generate and view a QR code

Generate a QR code for a public share, then display it so others can scan it to open the shared task.

Download the QR code as an image so it can be printed or embedded in other project documentation.

Step 10: Manage or revoke existing shares

From the same dialog, monitor share usage and revoke any public shares that are no longer needed.
