Manage tasks on the board

Use the task board to review tasks by status, open task details, and apply your preferred board layout.

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps

Step 1: Open the task board view

Navigate to the task board view for your selected project to see all tasks organised into status-based columns such as Pending, In progress, Blocked, For review, and Completed.

Step 2: Review tasks by status

Browse each column to see which tasks are currently pending, being worked on, blocked, under review, or completed, so you can quickly assess the overall progress of the project.

Click on a task card in any column to view its full details in the task panel or detail page configured by your workspace.

Step 4: Change a task’s status on the board

Update a task’s status from the board so it moves between columns, ensuring the board always reflects the latest state of your work.

Step 5: Group the board using swimlanes

Use the swimlane grouping control to switch how rows are grouped on the board, for example by assignee, priority, or other available options, so you can focus on the structure that suits your workflow.

Step 6: Adjust column work-in-progress limits

Update the work-in-progress limit on specific columns to indicate how many tasks can be actively processed at once, helping your team avoid overloading any stage of the workflow.

Collapse less relevant columns to save space or expand them when you need more detail, tailoring the board layout to your current focus.

Step 8: Hide columns you do not need

Hide specific status columns that are not relevant to your current project view so that only the most important parts of the workflow are visible.

Step 9: Save and reuse your board preferences

Allow the system to remember your column settings, such as work-in-progress limits, collapsed state, and hidden columns, so your preferred layout is automatically applied whenever you return to this project’s board.
