Manage sign-up and intent-based routing

Use the sign-up page as an intent router so both new and existing users are directed to the right task, with marketing attribution preserved.

Audience

This guide is designed for project manager.

Steps

Open the /sign-up link provided in your campaign or internal documentation, including any redirect_task or intent parameters so users land on the correct task after authentication.

Open the sign-up link with your target task

Distribute the /sign-up link to new users; they will see the standard sign-up experience, and once registered they will be returned to /sign-up where their task intent is resolved and the correct task is launched.

Share sign-up links with new users

Ask existing, signed-in users to use the same /sign-up link; they will not see a sign-up form, but will instead be smoothly routed to either a confirmation screen (when an intent is present) or the app home.

Direct existing users to the same link

Step 4: Confirm workspace changes for authenticated users

For signed-in users arriving with a specific intent, review and confirm any proposed workspace changes on the confirmation screen before launching the corresponding task.

Step 5: Monitor attribution for campaigns

Rely on the built-in UTM capture so that all UTM parameters from your sign-up links are preserved through redirects and attributed to the final task destination for both new and returning users.
