Understand and use widget empty states

Learn how empty widgets explain what is missing and how to take action, such as uploading documents or starring favourites.

Steps​

Step 1: Review an empty favourites widget​

When a widget has no starred items, it displays a star icon with the title "No favourites yet" and a short explanation so you understand what belongs there.

Step 2: Recognise when no action is available​

If there is nothing you can do directly from the widget, it will only show the title and description without any button, indicating that actions must be taken elsewhere in the app.

Step 3: Use the call-to-action to upload documents​

When uploads are possible from the widget, you will see an "Upload" button with an upload icon; select this to trigger the upload action and start adding drawings, specifications or reports.
