Manage linked package and temporary works
Link an existing package or temporary works item to a workspace item, quickly create new ones, and remove links when they are no longer needed.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the linked package & temporary works section
Navigate to the workspace item page and scroll to the "Linked package & temporary works" section where you can see any existing linked package and temporary works chips or an empty state message if none are linked.

Step 2: Link an existing package
In the package area, select the option to link an existing package, use the search or list to find the correct package, and confirm to add it so that it appears as a linked package chip in the section.

Step 3: Quick-create and link a new package
If no suitable package exists, choose the quick-create option in the package picker, enter the minimal required details in the inline create flow, and confirm so the new package is created and linked immediately to the workspace item.

Step 4: Link existing temporary works items
In the temporary works area, open the picker, select one or more existing temporary works items from the list, and confirm so each selected item appears as its own linked chip under the section.

Step 5: Quick-create and link new temporary works
Use the quick-create option in the temporary works picker to create a new temporary works record with the essential details, then save so it is added and linked to the current workspace item as a new chip.

Step 6: Unlink a package or temporary works item
When a link is no longer required, click the remove icon on the relevant package or temporary works chip to unlink it from the workspace item while keeping the underlying record available elsewhere in the project.

Step 7: Review muted empty states
When there is no linked package or temporary works, review the muted empty state messages in the section, which confirm that nothing is currently linked and guide you towards linking or creating new items.
