Compose a structured document with blocks and embedded documents
Use Compose Mode to build a structured document from text sections and embedded reference documents, ready for saving as a formal record.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the document in Compose Mode
Navigate to the relevant document and switch into Compose Mode to see the composition surface with your content broken into editable sections.

Step 2: Review the existing content blocks
Scroll through the document to see each section represented as a separate block, aligned with server-defined anchors so you can manage content in smaller pieces.

Step 3: Edit text content within a block
Click into a block to edit its text in the rich text editor area, updating wording or structure as needed while staying within the current section.

Step 4: Insert a new block between sections
Hover between two existing blocks to reveal an insert point, then click it to create a new empty block where you can add additional narrative or requirements.

Step 5: Add an embedded document using the picker
Use the document picker control to search for and select a supporting document, such as a survey or report, to embed as a card within the current block.

Step 6: Choose specific pages to include from the embedded document
When prompted, use the page picker to select which pages from the chosen document to reference, then confirm to attach only the relevant pages.

Step 7: Review and manage embedded document cards
Check that embedded documents appear as cards within the block and remove any card that is no longer needed to keep the composition focused.

Step 8: Confirm there are no unintended interface elements
Scan the composition surface to verify that only the expected editing tools and embedded cards are visible, reassuring stakeholders there is no hidden UI.

Step 9: Save the composed document
Click the save action to store your structured changes; the system will emit the correct operations and the save button remains disabled if nothing has changed.
