Review and manage document details in split view
Use the split-view document screen to review content, track versions, update status and tags, and collaborate via comments.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the document in split view
From your documents list, select a document to open it in the split-view layout, with a mini list on the left and full details on the right.

Step 2: Navigate between documents in the mini list
Use the mini document list on the left pane to move quickly between related documents while keeping the detail view on the right in sync.

Step 3: Review document status and source
In the header of the right pane, check the status badge and source badge to understand the current workflow state and origin of the document.

Step 4: Update the document status
Use the document status control to change the workflow state, such as moving a document from draft to in review or approved, so the team can see its progress.

Step 5: Edit document metadata and tags
Open the metadata area to adjust key fields and use the tags editor to add, remove, or rename tags that help categorise and filter the document.

Step 6: View and edit the document content
On the Content tab, review the main body of the document and, where enabled, use the editing tools to update text, apply formatting, and save your changes.

Step 7: Use AI-assisted tools on the content
Where available, trigger AI-powered actions such as drafting, refining, or summarising content to speed up document preparation.

Step 8: Review connections to other items
Open the Connections tab to see how this document links to other documents, drawings, reports, or workflows, helping you understand its wider context.

Step 9: Track versions and revision history
On the Versions tab, review the revision chain to see past versions, who changed what, and when those changes were made.

Step 10: Download or export specific revisions
From the Versions tab, use the download and export options to retrieve a particular revision or generate a PDF copy for sharing or offline review.

Step 11: Export reports as PDFs
For report-type documents, use the export controls to generate and download a formatted PDF, selecting the appropriate category or format where required.

Step 12: Compare drawing revisions
When available, use the comparison tools to generate a visual comparison between drawing revisions, highlighting differences between versions.

Step 13: Read and add comments
Open the Comments tab to review existing discussion and add new comments so your team can collaborate directly on the document.

Step 14: Mention team members in comments
When writing a comment, @-mention relevant team members so they receive a notification and can respond directly to specific points.

Step 15: Share and open the document externally
Use the share and external link controls, where available, to generate a shareable link or open the document in its original source system.

Step 16: Adjust the split view layout
Use the maximise and minimise controls to focus on either the document list or the detail pane, depending on whether you are browsing or editing.
