Compose a unified project document from generated sections

Use Compose Mode to turn a generated report into an editable document, adding linked documents and register blocks to each section.

Steps

Step 1: Open the document in Compose Mode

From your unified documents view, open the generated document and switch to Compose Mode to see each section as an individual block ready for editing and enrichment.

Step 2: Review section content and existing embeds

Scroll through the document to review each section's read-only text, along with any existing embedded documents or register blocks displayed as cards within the relevant section.

Step 3: Insert additional documents into a section

Use the add control within a section block to open the universal document picker, search or browse for relevant project files, and insert them as structured embed cards that show titles, metadata and page details.

Step 4: Choose specific pages to embed

When adding or adjusting an embedded document, use the page picker to select the exact pages you want to reference so that only the relevant portion of the source document is included.

Step 5: Add and configure register blocks

Insert register blocks into a section using the register controls, then open the register builder dialogue to define fields, structure and content for your register, which appears as a dedicated block in the composition.

Step 6: Reorder and refine section structure

Use the insert points that appear between blocks to add new content, move existing blocks, or remove unneeded items so the document flows in the order you require.

Step 7: Edit narrative content using the rich text editor

Where enabled, open a section's content in the rich text editor to refine wording, adjust formatting and split content into multiple blocks while keeping the underlying structure intact.

Step 8: Run quick reports or agent tasks from context

Launch a quick report or agent task from within a section using the available actions, capture focused inputs, and insert the resulting structured content back into the current section.

Step 9: Save your composition as a new version

When you are satisfied with the arrangement of sections, embeds and registers, save your changes so a new document version is created without affecting the original generation template.

Step 10: Regenerate while preserving embedded content

If the base document is regenerated, review the updated sections and confirm that your embedded documents and register blocks have been preserved because they are stored as structured references rather than inline edits.
