Sign in as a returning plant operator
Allow returning plant operators to sign in using their phone number and PIN after scanning the plant QR code.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the plant sign-in screen from the QR code
After an operator scans the plant QR code and is recognised as a returning operator, the plant sign-in screen opens, showing the option to sign in to check in to the plant.

Step 2: Confirm the plant and pre-filled phone number
The sign-in screen shows the plant name (if available) in the heading and may pre-fill the operator’s phone number if it was detected earlier, so the operator only needs to confirm it is correct.

Step 3: Enter PIN and submit the sign-in
The operator enters their PIN and selects "Sign in", which sends their details securely to create a new plant session and completes the check-in if the PIN is correct.

Step 4: Use the first-time authorisation path if needed
If the operator has not been authorised on this plant before, they can select "First time on this plant? Authorise here" to switch to the full authorisation flow instead of signing in with a PIN.

Step 5: Follow supervisor guidance if the PIN is forgotten or locked
If the operator has forgotten their PIN or triggered a PIN lock, they see help text explaining that a supervisor can clear the PIN lock so they can re-run site authorisation and set a new PIN.
