Manage checks and inspections for a plant
Review daily and annual inspection status for a specific plant, add new checks, and follow up on overdue or non-compliant items.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the plant checks and inspections panel
Navigate to the plant detail page for the relevant item and scroll to the "Checks & inspections" panel, where you can see the overall safety status and key reason for that status.

Step 2: Review the plant safety status and banners
Check the header for the worst overall status across all checks; if any statutory inspection has lapsed you will see a clear "must not use" style banner indicating the plant should not be used.

Step 3: Review Tier 1 daily operative checks
In the daily or operative section, view the current status band (such as green, due soon, overdue, or defect), together with recent check information sourced from operatives' in-app submissions.

Step 4: View detailed daily-check history
Use the history option to switch to the daily-check history view, where you can review past submissions and identify patterns or recurring issues reported by operatives.

Step 5: Print the cab QR sticker for daily checks
Select the print option in the Tier 1 area to open the QR sticker dialog, then print and place the sticker in the cab so operatives can quickly access and submit daily checks from their devices.

Step 6: Review Tier 2 specialist inspection status
In the annual specialist section, check the current certificate status, including the last recorded inspection date and the expiry date, shown with a coloured band such as green, due soon, or overdue.

Step 7: Record a new specialist check and upload evidence
Use the option to record a specialist check to open the recording dialog, where you can enter certificate details, set the expiry date, and attach any supporting evidence such as reports or photos.

Step 8: Replace an existing specialist certificate
When a new certificate is issued, use the replace or record again option to update the certificate details and evidence so the panel always reflects the current compliance position.

Step 9: Chase the responsible party for overdue checks
For overdue or soon-to-expire specialist checks, use the chase action to trigger a follow-up to the responsible party, helping ensure required inspections are arranged promptly.

Step 10: Pause or retire checks if the plant is not in use
Use the pause, play, or retire options to temporarily pause checks, re-enable them, or retire a check when the plant is taken permanently out of service, so status reflects actual usage.

Step 11: Add a new check from the wizard
Click the "Add check" button to open the Add Check wizard, then choose the appropriate check type and follow the on-screen guidance to configure a new operative or specialist check for the plant.

Step 12: Use the empty state shortcuts on new plant records
When a plant has no existing checks, use the one-tap starter options in the empty state to quickly set up common daily and specialist checks without going through every wizard step.
