Configure lifecycle stages and metadata fields
Adjust the lifecycle configuration for a project, including stages, metadata fields and basic lifecycle settings, then save the updated configuration.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the lifecycle editor
From the settings area, open the lifecycle configuration associated with the relevant code so that the editor loads the current stages, metadata fields and settings; wait until any loading indicator clears and check for any error message at the top of the page.

Step 2: Review or change basic lifecycle details
In the settings tab, review the lifecycle name and description and, if editing is allowed, update the text fields to reflect how this lifecycle should be described across the project.

Step 3: Adjust lifecycle stages
Switch to the stages tab to review the ordered list of stages; expand a stage to edit its name and properties, reorder stages using the drag handles, add new stages with the add button, or remove unwanted stages using the delete control.

Step 4: Configure metadata fields
Open the fields tab to see all metadata fields linked to the lifecycle; edit field names and settings as required, add any new fields needed to track information, and delete fields that are no longer relevant.

Step 5: Save lifecycle changes
Once you have finished updating stages, fields and settings, review any warning or error messages, then select the save button to create or update the project-specific override; wait for the save to complete and confirm that unsaved-change indicators are cleared.

Step 6: Return to the previous settings view
Use the back control in the editor header to leave the lifecycle editor and return to the previous settings page, where the updated lifecycle configuration will now apply.
