Use the document outline to jump between sections
Use the document outline panel to see all sections in a long document and jump straight to the part you need.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Open the document outline panel
Select the outline toggle button to expand the document outline panel and display the list of available sections in your document.

Step 2: Review available document sections
In the expanded panel, scan the list of section headings to understand the structure of the document and choose where you want to go.

Step 3: Identify your current section
Look for the section that is visually highlighted or marked as current, which shows the part of the document you are presently viewing.

Step 4: Distinguish sections with similar titles
If two sections share the same or similar titles, use their distinct entries in the outline to confirm you are selecting the correct one.

Step 5: Jump to a different section
Select the heading for the section you want to read; the page will automatically scroll to that part of the document.

Step 6: Let the outline collapse after navigation
After you jump to a new section, the outline panel automatically collapses so it does not cover the content you have moved to.

Step 7: Understand when the outline is hidden
Be aware that the outline panel does not appear for short documents and is automatically hidden when you print the document.
