Manage expired document image links with automatic asset recovery
Use automatic asset recovery to quietly repair failed document images and clearly signal when a shared link is no longer available.

Steps
Step 1: Open a document that contains embedded images
Navigate to a document in your project that includes embedded images loaded from a shared or time-limited link; while everything is working normally, the asset recovery status remains "healthy" and stays out of the way.
Step 2: Allow the system to detect a failed image and retry once
When one or more embedded images fail to load, the system automatically performs a single background refetch for the whole document to try to restore all affected images, without requiring any action from you.
Step 3: Confirm that successful refetch keeps the document healthy
If the refetch is successful, image content is restored and the status remains "healthy", indicating that the document link is still valid and you can continue working without interruption.
Step 4: Understand behaviour when the link is no longer available
If the system cannot refetch the assets or the request is refused, the status changes to "link-unavailable", clearly indicating that the underlying link has expired or been removed, rather than there being a temporary image error.
