View task dependencies on the Gantt chart

Use the Gantt chart to visually trace how a selected task depends on earlier work using highlighted connector arrows.

Steps

Step 1: Open the programme Gantt chart

Navigate to your project’s programme view and open the Gantt chart so that all tasks and their timelines are visible.

Step 2: Locate the task you want to inspect

Scroll or zoom within the Gantt chart to find the task bar whose dependencies you want to review.

Step 3: Hover over the task to activate its dependency chain

Move your pointer over the chosen task bar to highlight its dependency chain; only this task’s connectors will appear.

Step 4: Review the highlighted dependency arrows

Follow the terracotta connector arrows from predecessor tasks into the selected task to understand finish-to-start relationships.

Step 5: Compare dependencies across nearby tasks

Move your pointer to different task bars in the same area of the Gantt chart to see how their dependency chains differ.
