Manage phase headers in the programme Gantt chart
Use phase headers to quickly collapse or expand groups of tasks and review phase-level progress on the programme Gantt chart.
This guide is designed for project manager.
Steps
Step 1: Locate the phase header in the Gantt chart
Open the programme Gantt chart and find the coloured phase row at the top of a group of tasks, showing the phase name, task count and average completion.

Step 2: Review phase summary information
Hover over the phase header to see a tooltip with the phase name, total number of tasks and percentage complete. Use this to understand overall progress for that phase at a glance.

Step 3: Collapse tasks within a phase
Select the phase header once to collapse it. The chevron icon will point right, and all tasks belonging to that phase will be hidden, keeping the Gantt chart compact.

Step 4: Expand tasks within a phase
Select the phase header again to expand it. The chevron icon will point down, and all tasks in that phase will become visible in the Gantt chart.

Step 5: Understand the phase date bar position
Look across the chart area to see the faint phase summary bar that spans the visible start and end dates of the phase, helping you understand where the phase sits in the overall timeline.
